Provincial Nominee Program

Alberta is a province known for its natural beauty and resources. It is located in Western Canada. Edmonton and Calgary are two of the Canada’s largest cities located in this province. Alberta has two famous national parks: Jasper and Banff. It is one of the most beautiful regions of North America.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee program (AINP)

Alberta province has this program for the prospective applicants with the required work experience and skills needed by the province. Eligible candidates may receive an Alberta Provincial Nomination Certificate.

Alberta Immigration Streams

There are currently five options for you to choose from I you are planning immigration to Alberta:

Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream: This program is for individuals who wish to start a farming business. The minimum requirements for this program include farm management skills; proposed business plan with investment plan and adequate financial resources (CAD $ 500000).

Under this program, interested candidates first submit their business plan to the Alberta government. Alberta Agriculture and Forestry receives this plan from the Alberta government to see whether the plan is feasible and it fulfils the requirements of Alberta’s agricultural industry. When the eligible candidates receive the positive report, they will collect relevant documents and submit those to Alberta government and IRCC for approval

Foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa: Foreign graduates can avail this program to start a business in Alberta and become permanent residents of Canada.

To avail this visa option, interested candidates should work with a designated agency and get their letter of recommendation. The applicants should submit the letter of recommendation along with the agency’s Expression of Interest (EOI) through the AINP portal. In addition, the candidates must submit the agency’s assessment report pertaining to the candidates’ proposed business plan with the application.

Requirements

Education: post-secondary education with ECA

Business experience: full-time – managing or owning a business (min. six months)

A comprehensive business plan with projected financials

Funds: minimum investment $100000 (for establishing an urban centre) with at least 34% ownership share

Minimum 51% ownership share if the centre is located outside Calgary or Edmonton

For a regional centre ($50000)

The candidate can fund their project from their own equity or from investors (venture capitalists, Canadian Financial institution or angel investors)

Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 5.

International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream: Graduates from a recognized or designated international post-secondary institution can avail this program to start a business in Alberta.

First you have to submit an Expression of Interest through AINP portal. Within 30 days you will receive EOI score. Based on the score and your ranking, you will be asked to submit a business application within 90 days of receiving an e-mail to submit one.

Requirements: Minimum two years full-time education in Alberta; a valid post-graduate Work Permit (PGWP); CLB level of 7 and minimum 34% ownership in the new business or an existing business.

Alberta Express Entry Stream: Candidates who have a CRS score of at least 300 can avail this program under Express Entry system provided they are currently working in an eligible occupation. Alberta invites candidates who have profile in the federal Express Entry System and have ties with Alberta with necessary skills.

Alberta government send Notification of Interest (NOI) to candidates who are in Express Entry pool. The invited candidates must indicate their interest in limited time frame. Selected candidates will receive a request from the AINP. Subsequently, the candidates should apply for provincial nomination with all necessary documents through the AINP portal.

Application Fee: CAD $500

Alberta Opportunity Stream for skilled workers who are currently working in an eligible occupation in Alberta or who have completed their studies at an approved Alberta post-secondary institution.

Candidates must submit an online application and pay the online application fee. Based on their individual situation they may be asked to submit their relevant documents.

Processing time is approximately 8 months

Requirements: Education – minimum:  a high school degree

Language proficiency – A minimum CLB level of 4 or 5 depending on occupation

Work experience in Alberta – a minimum of 12 to 18 months of eligible work experience in Alberta, Canada in the last 18 to 30 months.

British Columbia Immigration

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP):

Express Entry British Columbia Stream

Eligible applicants have the opportunity to receive priority processing of both their British Columbia PNP applications – and after their nomination, their permanent residence application as well because British Columbia Express Entry aligns with the Federal government’s Express Entry immigration selection system.

Express Entry British Columbia processes the following skills immigration categories:

• International Graduate Category
• International Post-Graduate Category
• Health Care Professional Category
• Skilled Worker Category

 

BC PNP Skills Immigration is divided into the following categories:

International Graduate Category: Candidates who are eligible to apply under this stream must have graduated from a recognised Canadian University or College. They must obtain a job offer from a BC employer as well.

International Post-Graduate Category:Candidates who are eligible to apply under this stream should hold Masters or Doctoral degrees in health sciences, applied or natural sciences from a recognised educational institute in British Columbia. Candidates can apply without requiring any job offer.

Healthcare Professional Category:Healthcare professionals including nurses, physicians, allied health professionals and psychiatric nurses with relevant work experience and job offers can apply under this category. They should acquire an eligible job offer from within 11 qualifying health occupations.

Skilled Worker Category:People falling under this category must receive an eligible job offer in a skilled occupation. Individuals with several years of work experience in their skilled occupation can avail this category to apply for a job.

Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category:Under this category, candidates (workers) who are in semi-skilled positions or entry-level positions are eligible to apply. Individuals working in food processing, hospitality, tourism or long-haul trucking can apply. Semi-skilled workers or entry-level workers working and living in British Columbia in the Northeast Development Region may be eligible to apply for immigration through this stream.

Minimum Requirements for the applicants. The candidate must have a profile with the Express Entry system, a job seeker validation code, and a full-time job offer and must meet minimum language requirements.

International Post-graduate category students are exempted from a full-time job offer; minimum language requirements; ability to support themselves and their family and a wage offer in line with B.C. wage rates.

Application fee is CAD $1,150with 2–3 months processing time

How it Works

Eligible candidates must first register with the SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System). British Columbia reviews your education, job, wage against the provincial labour market and language ability. Subsequently, the candidates can register with the BCPNP online.

Candidates from the Healthcare Professional Category and International Post-Graduate Category don’t have to register with the SIRS – but they can apply directly through BCPNP online.

Candidates get a registration score and entry into the selection pool as per the selected category. Eligible candidates with a score above certain threshold and meeting specific criteria are invited to apply for the provincial nomination. Once they are invited, they will get 30 days’ time to apply through BCPNP.

Candidates after receiving the provincial nomination, have the opportunity to apply for permanent residence.

Entrepreneur Immigration

For eligible candidates who are willing to immigrate to British Columbia as entrepreneurs, there are three options:

(Regional Pilot) Entrepreneur Immigration: This pilot program is for international entrepreneurs who wish to establish a new business in a British Columbia in a small community.

Entrepreneur Immigration (Base Category): This program is for business owners or senior managers who wish to invest money into a proposed business in British Columbia. This category has been temporarily suspended. The reopening date for this category is expected in early 2022.

Strategic Projects Category: This category helps foreign-controlled companies to set up their operations in British Columbia. Under this category around five key professional, managerial or technical staff members can be nominated for permanent residence in British Columbia.

How It Works

Interested candidates must first complete their registration and submit a short business concept online.

They will receive a score based on their information. Candidates’ eligibility is based on their scores they receive. They get placement in the qualified pool. Candidates with high scores will get invitation to apply. They should complete and submit an application through BCPNP online within four months of receiving the invitation to apply. A British Columbia authorized accounting firm reviews the personal net worth of the candidate.

British Columbia gives two-year work permit to the successful candidates which helps them to establish their business in B.C. They will get up to 20 months to implement their business plan. Subsequently, British Columbia gives provincial nomination to them to apply for permanent residence.

Requirements

Entrepreneur Immigration

Demonstrable management and business skills and experience with a personal net worth of CAD $ 600000. They should be capable of making personal investment of CAD $ 200000. They must have a CLB level of 4 or higher in English or French

Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot

Eligible candidates must have a personal net worth of minimum CAD $300000. They also must have:

• Experience as an active business owner and manager – three years
• Experience as a senior manager – four years
• Experience as an owner-manager: one year plus experience as a senior manager: two years
• Required education
• CLB level of 4 or higher in English or French
• Additional business requirements

Strategic Projects Category

Company must be well established and in good financial standing;

Must demonstrate investment capacity to expand into B.C.;

Must provide significant economic benefit to the province.

Manitoba Immigration

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba is a small province often called as the gateway to Western Canada. It is located between the provinces of Saskatchewan and Ontario. Manitoba launched Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 1998. The program has played a key role in driving Manitoba’s population growth, work force and economic growth. The province now nominates more than 4000 new immigrants every year. Employment opportunities and retention rates are quite high in this province.

A nomination from provincial program can get an extra 600 CRS points for the applicant ensuring an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Candidates can also get their nomination through their Express Entry Profile. Those who get provincial nomination can directly apply to IRCC.

Manitoba Immigration Streams

A person who wishes to immigrate to Manitoba can have the following five options to select:

International Education Stream (IES)

This program is for international students who have graduated from a Manitoba post-secondary institution and who have a plan to stay in Manitoba permanently. This is a faster pathway to permanent residence. There are three pathways in this stream: Student Entrepreneur Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Career Employment Pathway.

International Student Entrepreneur Pathway

Around 20 international graduates from a Manitoba Learning Institution can avail this international student entrepreneur pathway to succeed as entrepreneurs in Manitoba province. The students must fulfil the demands of a Business Performance Agreement prior to being selected for permanent residence.

Requirements

Students must fulfil the following conditions:

• Complete at least 2 years long, full-time, post-secondary education program in Manitoba
• Score CLB 7 in languages, submit a business plan and support themselves with sufficient funds for at least six-months
• Have Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
• Live in Manitoba since graduation and wish to continue living in Manitoba
• Own and operate business for at least 6 months in Manitoba with at least 51% ownership.
• Must sign a Business Performance Agreement once application is approved.

Graduate Internship Pathway

The pathway is for international doctoral and master graduates who complete Elevate or Accelerate internship with Mitacs – which provides internship to international graduates by partnering with the Manitoba government.

Students applying for the program must:

• Live in Manitoba while applying for the program
• Have enough funds to support themselves for at least 6 months
• Have full-time employment in Manitoba
• Have completed Mitacs Internship
• Have a CBL score of 7
• Have a masters or doctoral degree from Manitoba in the last three years.

Career Employment Pathway

Applicants eligible for this program are post-secondary graduates with long-term employment in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba.

Students applying for the program must:

• Be living in Manitoba at the time of application
• Have completed post-graduation from Manitoba in the past three years.
• Have a full-time job offer from Manitoba
• Have enough money for sustenance for up to six months
• Meet the minimum language requirement of CLB 7
• Be employed in a long-term full-time position in Manitoba.

The application fee for International Student Entrepreneur Pathway is

CAD $2,500 and for the remaining two pathways it is CAD $500. Processing time is up to six months.

How It Works

A candidate first submits an EOI, based on the score he or she will be invited to submit an MPNP application. Successful candidate will receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba. The candidate can use this nomination for seeking a permanent residency visa.

Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

This program is for qualified international student graduates and temporary foreign workers who havebeen offered employment (a full-time permanent job)with a Manitoba employer.There are two pathways under this stream:

Human Capital Pathway

Foreign skilled workers can avail this stream to apply if their work experience comes under the in-demand occupations listed in Manitoba’s occupation list.

Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

People under another MPNP stream and with an active Express Entry Profile and also with strong connection to Manitoba can avail this pathway. Their work experience must be listed in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations list as well.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must score 60 out of 100 points. They must be connected to Manitoba through family or friends living in the province. Their education and previous work experience or an invitation to apply by the MPNP give them advantage.

How It Works

A candidate first submits an EOI, based on the score he or she will be invited to submit an MPNP application. Successful candidate will receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba. The candidate can use this nomination for seeking a permanent residency visa. Candidates with an Express Entry profile can apply through Express Entry System.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

This stream is for any skilled worker or a qualified skilled worker who has a capability to establish a strong connection with Manitoba. The skilled person may be from outside of Canada. People who are skilled and also living in Canada are also eligible for this category.

There are two pathways under this stream:

Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway

Candidates who are seeking to apply through this stream must receive an Invitation to Apply. They have to be interviewed by a Manitoba employer and a representative of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. Interviews are conducted outside of Canada.

Manitoba Work Experience Pathway

People who are working with a temporary work permit in Manitoba can avail this pathway. This program is for international graduates of Canadian post-secondary institutions and temporary workers.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are seeking to apply under this stream must have a valid post-graduation work permit or a valid work permit. They must be international student graduates or a temporary foreign worker with a work experience of at least six continuous months. Manitoba employer must offer them a full-time permanent job. They must also have demonstrable English and French language proficiencies with basic qualification, education, training, certification or licence require to do the job. The candidates must be willing to work, live and establish themselves and their families in Manitoba as a permanent resident.

How It Works

Interested candidate has to complete a series of questions online. This means the candidate’s Expression of Interest (EOI). They will get a score based on their answers. Candidates who score high will get an invitation to apply and submit MPNP. Manitoba gives provincial nomination to successful candidates – which they can use to seek permanent residency visa from federal Canadian government.

Manitoba Business Investor Stream

This stream is for candidates who want to establish a business in Manitoba. There are currently two streams for them to choose:

Entrepreneur Pathway

Through this pathway, eligible foreign business owners are nominated and recruited to move to Manitoba. They must be willing to purchase or establish a new business there and they must first get temporary work permit. They must set up their business in Manitoba in the first two years of arriving.

Requirements

The candidate must submit a business plan and be proficient in French or English with a CLB of 5. The candidate must invest at least CAD $250000 (if the business is in the Manitoba Capital) and at least CAD $150000 if the business is outside Manitoba). They must have a net worth of at least CAD $500000. The other requirements include at least 3 years of business operation, ownership and business management experience.  The candidate must sign a business Performance Agreement after the approval of the application.

How It Works

A candidate must first check eligibility and then explore Manitoba, research the business concept and then prepare and submit the business concept form with an Expression of Interest (EOI). After approval, the candidate will receive an official letter of Advice to Apply (LAA). Next, the candidate will submit a complete application to MPNP. After attending a personal interview, the candidate will sign a Business Performance Agreement (BPA) and then goes to Manitoba operates the business, provides regular updates and ensures that the terms and conditions of the BPA are met.

Farm Investor Pathway

This pathway is for people who want to do a farming business in Manitoba and have a plan to immigrate there to establish and operate their farm business.

Requirements

The candidate must submit a farm business plan and be proficient in French or English. The candidate must invest at least CAD $300000 and must have a net worth of at least CAD $500000. The other requirements include at least 3 years of business operation, farm ownership and business management experience.

How It Works

Interested candidates must visit Manitoba to conduct farm research one year before beginning their process. Subsequently, they must complete self-assessment (interest guidelines) and farm business concept forms. The next steps involve the following:

• Submission of an application for Farm Investor Pathway after receiving an LAA.
• Invitation to attend an interview with an MPNP representative
• Signing of Deposit Agreement contract (the candidate must sign and deposit CAD $ 75000)
• After receiving nomination, the candidate can apply for permanent residence

Morden Community Driven Initiative

Applicants who are plumbers, cooks, carpenters, welders and pipefitters and who are seeking to establish themselves in the rural town of Morden can pursue this stream.

Newfoundland and Labrador Immigration

Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)

The Atlantic provinces are Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, New Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Currently the province welcomes 1200 new immigrants every year and their target is to attract up to 1700 new immigrants annually.

Newfoundland and Labrador Immigration Streams

Those who want to immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador, they have the following options:

• International Graduate Entrepreneur Category
• International Entrepreneur Category
• International Graduate Category
• Skilled Worker Category
• Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker

The International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

This category of immigration program provides an opportunity for international graduates who are from Newfoundland and Labrador post-secondary institution to run, co-own or establish a business in the province. Subsequently, they can apply for Canadian permanent residence as well.

The application fee for this program is CAD $250. Processing time depends on the verification time of the documents.

Minimum Requirements

A post-graduate work permit is required. The candidate must have completed graduation from the North Atlantic Memorial University College in the last two years from two years long program. They must be at least 21 years old.

A business management experience of at least one year holding one-third ownership in the province is required. They must provide a business continuity plan with supporting financial documents. A CLB of 7 in English or French is a must. They may require additional criteria if they have a plan to start or purchase new business. Their new business must create at least one full-time job for the Canadian residents or citizens.

How it works

The candidate ensures that he or she is eligible and then completes an EOI. If the candidate gets success, they will receive an (ITA). Next, they will submit their application with required documents including special purpose report and review engagement (business financial document). A licensed verifier will provide these documents. Once the application is approved, the candidate can use provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence.

The International Entrepreneur Category

This program is for those foreign nationals who have studied in the province and want to start, purchase or co-manage or do a business in Newfoundland and Labrador province. They must have been operating their business for a year on a temporary work permit prior to applying for a provincial nomination.

The application fee for this program is CAD $1000 and the time required for processing depends on verification of the documents.

Minimum Requirements

The eligible candidates must be between 21 to 59 years age with at least a high school diploma. They must also meet French or English language requirements.

The candidate must have personal assets and amount in net business up to CAD $600000. They must invest at least CAD $200000 to start a business with 33.3 percent ownership. They must have a business plan with the required documents. Before purchasing or starting the business, they must visit the province and explore it. They must possess minimum two years of business ownership and active business management experience in the last five years or senior level business management experience for up to five years. They must score at least 72 out of 120 in the Expression of Interest (EOI) assessment grid.They must ensure that the business will be for-profit and would create at least one full-time job for permanent residents of Canada or citizens of Canada. Furthermore, if any additional criteria are required, they must fulfil that and they must have an intention to live permanently in the province.

How It Works

The candidate should make sure that he or she is eligible for this category – and then complete an Express of Interest online. This completes the pre-application screening process. Next, successful candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply. At this juncture, a Net Worth Verifier will verify the net worth of the candidate. The next step involves gathering required documents including business plan and then submission of application. The candidate will submit their Net Worth Verification Report as well. Once your application is accepted and approved, you will be able to use your provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence.

The International Graduate Category 

This stream is for international graduates who have a job offer from the employer based at Newfoundland and Labrador. The graduates are staying in Canada on a post-graduate work permit. There is no application fee for this category and the processing time is 25 business days.

The candidates applying for this stream must have completed two-year degree or diploma program full-time with at least half of their studies in Canada. An eligible employer in Newfoundland and Labrador must offer them a full-time job. They must have skills, accreditations, training and qualifications needed for the job with a post-graduation work permit from IRCC. They must meet the minimum language requirements and have enough money to settle in the province.

How it works

The candidate must ensure that they are eligible and meet the requirements needed for the application. Next, they will gather the required documents and complete the online application through the province’s website. They can wait and see for up to 25 days to know whether their application is approved or denied. After approval they can use their provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

The Skilled Worker Category 

This stream is for people who are currently working in the province with a valid work permit. They are skilled worker with a full-time job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer for at least two years.

Minimum Requirements

Eligible candidates must have full-time job offer with necessary skills, training, qualification and accreditation for the job. The candidate must have relevant work experience for the job and also enough money to settle in the province. They must meet the minimum language requirements.

How it works

The candidate will complete an application on the province’s website and then submit it.

An immigration officer will review the application and then recommend it to a delegated authority – who, after reviewing it will make a final decision. The candidate will be notified of their application within 25 days. If an application is approved, the candidate can use their provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker

This program is for skilled workers who have a job offer and who have an Express Entry profile as well.

Requirements

The candidates applying under this stream must score at least 67 points out of 100 on the PNP point assessment grid and meet the minimum language requirements. They must have an Express Entry Profile; a post-secondary diploma or degree with a valid work permit and a full-time job offer from the province under NOC level 0, A or B. Their employer must meet the necessary requirements. They must have adequate funds to support themselves.

Application Fee is CAD $250 and the processing time is 25 business days.

How it works

The candidate will complete an application on the province’s website and then submit it.

Before applying the candidate must ensure that their work permit and passport are valid. It is better to double check the document and application checklist before submitting the application. An immigration officer from the province may interview the candidate after completion of their online application. Successful candidates will receive a provincial nomination in the Express Entry System – which they must accept. After accepting the nomination, they will get additional 600 points in the CRS. This will guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

The famous cities in New Brunswick include Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton. Nearly about 30% of the population speaks French as the first language. Hence it is officially the bilingual province in Canada. New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) provides opportunities for experienced and skilled workers to get provincial nomination certificate. Once nominated foreign candidates can apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The NBPNP accepts applications under the following immigration categories:

Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

People who have graduated from the recognized educational institution in New Brunswick and have acquired or started a business in New Brunswick can apply under this category. This stream provides a pathway to permanent residence in the New Brunswick province.

Requirements

They must be of 22 to 40 years of age with a New Brunswick full-time diploma or degree. They must have lived in the province during the academic program and have operated or owned a business in New Brunswick for at least one year with a valid post-graduation work permit. They must have an intention to settle in New Brunswick. They must have 100 percent ownership of the business and receive compensation in the form of salary. They must also create at least one full-time job for permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

How It Works

Interested and eligible candidates must submit an Expression of Interest to the concerned department of the province. They are assessed based on their age, education, qualification, training, work experience and economic benefit to the province. Selected candidates will receive an Invitation to apply (ITA) for provincial nomination from New Brunswick.

Skilled Workers with Family Support

A family member living in the province of New Brunswick must sponsor the skilled worker applicant or his or spouse, under Skilled Workers with Family Support stream.

The person who is applying under this stream will be eligible to apply if he or she is related to the family supporter in one of the following ways:

• Brother or sister
• Non-dependent child
• Niece or nephew (children of brothers or sisters)
• Grandchild

Requirements

The candidate eligible under this category must be a Canadian permanent resident or a Canadian citizen with full-time residence in New Brunswick province. The applicant must have been operating a business in the province for the past 12 months. Their job must be represented under skill levels 0, A or B category. The applicant must submit a Settlement plan approved by an immigration program officer. The candidate must have minimum funds to settle in the province.

Entrepreneurial Stream

Candidates who apply through this category of NBPNP are qualified foreign entrepreneurs who have a plan to own and manage a business in New Brunswick. They make investments to own and manage a business that will contribute to New Brunswick’s economy.

Requirements

The candidates must score a minimum level of CLB 5 in French or English with a minimum two-year post-secondary education. They must be between 22 to 55 years of age. They must have an intention to operate a business and live in New Brunswick. They must have five years of senior business management experience with at least three years spent owning and managing a business. They must provide a business concept and plan. They must score at least 65 points on New Brunswick’s unique selection grid. The individuals must have a personal net worth of CAD $ 600000 out of which CAD $ 300000 must be readily transferrable and unaffected by debts or other obligations.

Before applying the candidates must demonstrate at least one of the following connections: a business visit to New Brunswick for at least 5 days in the past 24 months; the applicant has at least two years of full-time study at a New Brunswick post-secondary institution with at least 12 months experience in a high-skilled occupation (NOC A, B or 0). The candidate’s family members are residing in the province or dependent children studying there. The applicants must score at least 65 points across all factors on the grid system.

How It Works

Eligible candidates will submit an EOI. High scoring candidates are invited to apply to the program. Prior to submitting their application, applicants are required to conduct an exploratory visit to New Brunswick. Successful candidates will submit complete application to NBPNP. Once the application is accepted, the applicants are called for an interview with a NBPNP program officer. Nominated candidates will receive a provincial nomination certificate. They can use it to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Skilled Workers with Employer Support

Candidates applying under this category must have a letter of employment from the provincial employer. The job offered must be a full-time, permanent job. The candidates must score a minimum of 50 points on the selection grid. The job offered must be from any of the following NOC skill category: 0, A, B, C or D. The candidates must have at least high school level of education with the necessary licences, certificates or qualifications and minimum CLB score of 4 in all the four categories of French or English language tests. They must have to operate a business in the province for at least one year. The candidate should have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC).

Express Entry Labour Market Stream

NBPNP uses this stream to allow applicants entry into Canada using the Federal Express Entry immigration selection system according to the provincial requirements and labour market’s specific needs. The model of operation of this stream is EOI (Express of Interest).

The candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible under this stream:

The candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile and CLB score of 7 in all four language abilities with valid Canadian work permit. They must have a letter of employment from the provincial employer and also a Job Seeker Validation Code. They must have at least a Canadian High School Diploma with a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). They must be working and living in New Brunswick working under NOC level 0, A or B category. They must have at least 1560 hours or 12 months of continuous work experience in their primary occupation.

How It Works

Interested candidates can submit EOI – which is assessed and ranked according to skills and experience in in-demand occupations listed by the province. They should score high and have the funds to establish themselves in the province and contribute positively to the Brunswick labour market. Applicants who are nominated by the New Brunswick nomination program get 600 additional points in their Express Entry CRS score.

Northwest Territory Nominee Program (NTNP)

This provincial nominee program allows candidates with necessary education, training, skills and experience to receive a Northwest Territories Provincial Nominee Program (NTPN) certificate. This certificate will help them to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.

There are two main programs under this stream:

Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program: It is under business stream.

Foreign nationals with demonstrable abilities in acquiring, starting or investing and operating an existing Northwest Territories Business can avail this program to immigrate to Canada. The aim of NTNP business stream is to give investment opportunity to foreign nationals. It will provide economic growth of the territory and create jobs.

Requirements

The applicants must have CLB level 4 in English or French with required educational credentials and experience to start and execute a business according to a set business plan. They must be financially capable of starting and operating a business and supporting themselves. They must have a personal net worth of CAD $ 2,50000 to $ 500000. They must own a business with at least 33.3 percent share.

How It Works

The prospective applicant must develop a working business concept and investigate the territory. The business concept may involve identifying a business opportunity or preparing a full-scale business plan. Next, the candidate must conduct an exploratory visit to the Northwest Territories. They must also participate in at least one face-to-face interview with Nominee Program staff to review the working business concept. After the success of the interview, the prospective applicant will get 60 days to submit a comprehensive working business plan and their business trip’s findings. Based on these documents and reports, the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment will issue an invitation to apply to the applicant. After acceptance of the formal application, the candidate will get nine months to apply for the nominee program. The application is finally reviewed and the business performance agreement is signed. The applicants will get a two-year temporary work permit.

Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program: This stream has three distinct programs:

Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations

This stream provides entry level workers and people working in semi-skilled and unskilled occupations (NOC levels C and D) an opportunity to apply to get work permits in NWT. Applicants who want to apply under this stream must have at least six months work experience in the same position.

Requirements

Applicants must have a valid work permit and legal status to work if they are residing in Canada. They must have the required accreditation or certification for the job as per the employer’s requirements. If they completed their studies outside Canada, they must obtain ECA. They must meet NWT certification, licensing or registration requirements of the job and submit certified true copies of all relevant documents. They must score a CLB level of 4 across all four competencies.

How It works

Northwest Territory Employer or authorized representative must submit a complete application to the NTNP with all the relevant original or certified true copies of the documents. After the success of the application assessment and processing, if it is approved the NTNP will send a nomination certificate to the foreign national (applicant) or the Employer or authorized representative. The Nominee will have up to six months to submit the application for Canadian permanent residence.

Skilled Worker

Applicants eligible under this stream are foreign nationals with a full-time permanent offer of employment in a skilled position (skills levels 0, A, or B) from Northwest territory employer. It is a NTNP Employer Driven immigration program wherein NWT employers sponsors eligible candidates for permanent residency.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid work permit with a willingness to settle in the Northwest Territories. They must have relevant credentials, certificates, experience and education as per the requirements of the NOCs. If they have completed education outside Canada then they must obtain an ECA. The applicants must achieve CLB level 5 for NOC B category and CLB level 6 for NOC 0 and A in either English or French.

Express Entry System for Skilled Workers Express Entry Stream candidates who meet the criteria of the NTNP Skilled worker stream can be nominated for the NTNP Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers. Foreign nationals with express entry profile are also eligible to apply under this stream. Under this stream eligible applicants will receive priority processing of both their NTNP application and permanent residence application.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be eligible for at least of the three federal immigration programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades or Federal Skilled Worker. The candidate must provide acceptance letter, Express Entry Profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code issued by IRCC. They must express interest (EOI). They must have NOC skill level 0, A, or B occupation. They must hold a valid work permit and legal work status in Canada. They must meet the occupational standards and job criteria with at least 12 months of full-time experience. They must have completed formal education as required by the government of NWT. Candidates who completed their studies outside must get their educational credentials assessed by a designated organization and obtain an ECA. Minimum language requirements include CLB level 6 for NOC 0 and A or CLB of 5 for NOC B in either English or French language.
